Clare Vivier opens store in Santa Monica

Handbag designer Clare Vivier opened a new Clare V. store in Santa Monica on Tuesday.

Like her Silverlake flagship and Nolita boutique, Vivier’s new store was designed by architect Barbara Bestor. It features a custom mural by artist Simone Shubuck.

The shop at 1318A Montana Ave. carries Vivier’s bags (and will offer monogramming), Heather Taylor Home embroidered linens, Chateau Marmont candles, Vuarnet sunglasses and jewelry by local artisans.

“Project Runway’s” Tim Gunn is scheduled to meet the public from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at World Market at the Original Farmers Market. Those attending are asked to bring five nonperishable food items that will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The Original Farmer’s Market is at 6333 W 3rd St., Los Angeles.

Made by DWC plans to host a holiday shopping party to benefit the Downtown Women’s Center from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, during the monthly downtown L.A. Artwalk. The event will be at the DWC Resale Boutique, 325 Los Angeles Blvd. Items include vintage clothing, natural soaps, tea cup candles, coffee cozies and more.

Designer/blogger Julie Sarinana of Sincerely Jules will be showing off her T-shirts and sweaters at the Revolve pop-up at the Grove from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. The pop-up is at 101 The Grove Drive.

Luxury leather goods brand Parabellum is to operate a pop-up shop in the Grand Lobby at the Grove from Nov. 15 through Jan. 31. Parabellum, a finalist for the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award, makes bags, belts, wallets and other leather accessories. The Grove is at 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles.

The Santa Monica Museum of Art’s Gracie gift shop opens its annual holiday shop on Saturday with a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The holiday shop, to be open though Dec. 23, will feature an expanded collection of artistic and one-of-a-kind items. The first 50 guests to make purchases from the holiday collection are to receive goody bags (limit one to a customer). The museum is at Bergamot Station, G-1, 2525 Michigan Ave.

Gucci has opened a new store -- its third in Los Angeles County --at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park. The mall is at 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
