Disney rolls out villain-themed faux eyelashes, cosmetic bags [UPDATED]

Share

Disney Consumer Products has tapped into its dark side a tiny little bit with villains-themed cosmetic bags by Soho Beauty and fake eyelashes from Ardell,* which hit retail earlier this month for your Halloween haunting needs.

Soho Beauty’s soft-sided cosmetics bag collection includes five pieces (a “weekender” bag, a round train case, a clutch and a two-piece clutch set) bearing the likenesses of Cruella De Vil (she of “101 Dalmatians”) Maleficent (from “Sleeping Beauty”), Ursula (“The Little Mermaid”) and the Evil Queen (“Cinderella”) and are being sold exclusively through Walgreens ($10 each).

And for Disney-loving costume-party-goers looking to complete their look with just the right evil eye (lash), the same four lady villains have also inspired their own versions of Ardell faux eyelashes (also exclusive to Walgreens and $7.99 each).

We’ve long said that Disney’s various villains are a woefully under-leveraged bunch of n’er do wells -- especially the bad girl bunch. And though these offerings might momentarily slake the thirst for merchandise for the Disney-loving tween set, what we really can’t wait to see is what comes crawling out of the wardrobe closet for Disney’s “Maleficent,” (starring Angelina Jolie as the horn-sporting title character) due out in July 2014 -- and the live-action Cruella De Vil movie reportedly in development for some time after that.
