Hollywood denizens have been partying all weekend leading up to Sunday’s Emmy Awards ceremony. All the Rage has the skinny on a few of the events in this and other reports.

The event: The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences “Performers Nominee Reception” on Friday, honoring this year’s Emmy Award contenders and kicking off a weekend jam-packed with pre-Emmy parties.

The invitation list: VIPs of the Television Academy and nearly all nominees, including Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell and Jesse Tyler Ferguson of “Modern Family”; Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter and Michelle Dockery of “Downton Abbey”; Sarah Paulson and James Cromwell of “American Horror Story: Asylum;” Tony Hale and Anna Chlumsky of “Veep”; Imelda Staunton and Toby Jones of “The Girl”; Anna Gunn of “Breaking Bad”; Cat Deeley of “So You Think You Can Dance”; Connie Britton of “Nashville”; Dot-Marie Jones of “Glee”; Mayim Bialik of “Big Bang Theory”; John Benjamin Hickey of “The Big C: Hereafter”; Lily Tomlin of “An Apology to Elephants”; Matt LeBlanc of “Episodes”; Morena Baccarin of “Homeland”; Dan Bucatinsky of “Scandal”; Allison Holker of “Dancing With The Stars”; Linda Cardellini of “Mad Men”; Bob Bergen of “The Looney Tunes Show” and voice-over actress June Foray.

The setting: Spectra by Wolfgang Puck at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, where aside from mingling under the stars, enjoying a buffet and receiving their certificates of recognition, honorees autographed an etched and painted 18-liter bottle of Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour wine, which will be displayed at Sunday’s Governors Ball and later sold to benefit the Television Academy Foundation’s educational programs.

Quotes of note: Nominated for the third time as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Shannon Beiste in “Glee,” Dot-Marie Jones thanked me for asking for her thoughts on the current controversy surrounding Cory Monteith’s upcoming memorial tribute at Sunday’s Emmys. The late actor, who played Finn Hudson of “Glee,” has been chosen as one of five actors singled out for a special salute, over other TV figures some people believe to be more deserving.

“I don’t understand why people are saying he doesn’t deserve a tribute,” Jones said. “He was a heck of a kid and he deserves the recognition.”

Words of warning: “Pace yourselves,” said host Cory Almeida at the start of official ceremonies, noting that “there’s a lot of fun going on” for the entire weekend, this event being the first of more than 10 pre-Emmy shindigs on Friday night alone.
