The wedding gown Margaery (Natalie Dormer) wore for her “Purple Wedding” to Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) took five to six weeks to make, costume designer Michele Clapton told Fashionista -- with one costumer dedicated to making all the rose and thorn embellishments by hand. The idea behind the design? “A creeping briar rose that, although pretty, will draw blood if you catch yourself on its thorns,” Clapton said, “and can end up smothering its host.
