George Clooney to produce Tom Ford’s next film

George Clooney, who received the Cecil B. DeMille award for achievement in film and television at this year’s Golden Globes, will produce fashion designer/film director Tom Ford’s next movie. It’s called “Nocturnal Animals” and is an adaptation of the book “Tony and Susan” by Austin Wright. Ford’s last film, “A Single Man” starring Colin Firth, met with critical acclaim. Skating champ and commentator Johnny Weir is selling oodles of his fabulous furs, designer bags, shoes and clothing -- around 170 pieces -- at eBay’s Linda’s Store. He just needed to make room in his closet for new fabulous stuff. Shoppers can buy without bidding, and Weir plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to his hometown fire department in Quarrytown, Pa. [NY Post]

Ever wanted sneakers in every color imaginable? You’ll almost be able to meet that goal when Pharrell Williams and Adidas Originals launch the “Supercolor Superstar Pack” of sneakers in 50 colors Friday. “Supercolor is a celebration of equality through diversity,” Williams is quoted as saying in a news release. “With 50 colors of the Superstar, everybody will be able to select his or her color. It is more diverse than any pack ever before. With every shoe treated exactly the same, all colors are equal.” [Footwear News]

The Securities Exchange Commission is investigating issues at American Apparel that came to light when the board of directors was investigating former CEO Dov Charney’s conduct. [Los Angeles Times]

But in good news for American Apparel, the National Center for Sexual Exploitation (formerly Morality in Media) announced via news release on Thursday that due to positive changes under the company’s new leadership, it has taken the retailer off its “Dirty Dozen” list -- where it had been placed because of its “sexually exploitive” ads.

In a photo style diary and interview posted in the Choo World portion of Jimmy Choo’s website, former “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester says her approach to fashion is “not taking it too seriously and bucking judgment.” She adds, “Like anyone, I’ve gone through phases, but the biggest difference [now] is that I’m less concerned with fashion for fashion’s sake. I find that I’m happiest when I’m comfortable in my favorite key items, so I just add or subtract from my tried and true items to create a certain look.” We also learn that for basic well-being, she always carries lip balm, products with SPF and a reusable water bottle, and gets plenty of sleep.
