It was an invasion of the body con dresses at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

But it was no horror; it was smokin’ hot.

Jessica Alba wore a strapless white bustier dress by Jason Wu with sexy lacing up the sides that was about as far from First Lady Michelle Obama’s fairytale white Jason Wu first inaugural gown as you can get. Alba accessorized the look with white Casadei pumps. (That’s right, they aren’t just for summertime anymore.)

“Girls” star Allison Williams chose an electric blue-and-white dress by hot and getting-hotter London designer David Koma, who was recently tapped to design the Thierry Mugler label.

And Malin Akerman wore a slinky black-and-white scribble print dress with a T-strap (that’s right, they aren’t just for shoes anymore) by New York-based label Cushnie et Ochs.

What made all these tight dresses chic and not slutty was that the hemlines hit at the knee or below. They were young, fun choices in keeping with the People’s Choice event. Well done.
