Kimora Lee Simmons opens a JustFab flagship store in Los Angeles
Kimora Lee Simmons is giving her e-commerce fashion site JustFab a bricks-and-mortar home.
The new 3,000-square-foot flagship store is set to open at the Glendale Galleria with a grand opening celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Simmons, the company’s president and creative director, will be on hand to meet customers. Stylists George Kotsiopolous and Jessica Paster are also expected to attend the event, which will include Champagne, desserts and music by DJ Chris Carter.
The creator and former designer of the Baby Phat clothing line and host of the Style Network show “Life in the Fab Lane,” Simmons joined the Manhattan Beach-based subscription e-tailer in 2011. JustFab subscribers take a short style quiz and get recommendations from stylists about which handbags, pair of shoes, jewelry or denim to buy. Most items cost $39.95.
The JustFab store is located across from the food court on the first level of the Glendale Galleria, 1126 Glendale Galleria, Glendale.
Events
Customers can meet designer Laurel Berman of Black Halo at a dessert reception and view informal modeling of the collection from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Neiman Marcus Topanga. The event will be in the sport shop on level two of the store, at 6550 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park.
The Helms Design District next vintage boutique show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 8755 Washington Blvd., Culver City. The event is hosted by Clever Vintage Clothing and will feature classic, repurposed and designer women’s clothing, jewelry and more from a wide selection of vendors. Culver City Girl Scouts are to provide lunches. Tickets are $5 at the door and are also available online at ebrite. Limited quantities of free and half-price tickets are available on ebrite while quantities last for up to two hours before the show.
Cibo Verde, Pressed Juicery and Firm Body Evolution are planning a “Fit for Fashion” event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 19. Professional fitness trainers and health practitioners will offer advice on weight loss, fitness and detoxification, and there will be a trunk show of workout fashions from Lululemon. The event will feature organic hors d’ouerves from Cibo Verde and beverages from Pressed Juicery. The event will be at Firm Body Evolution at 8704 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood (third floor). San Lorenzo Bikinis’ end-of-summer sale is planned this weekend at the brand’s Fashion Island store. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the store at 401 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach. Everything will be up to 80% off, with separates as low as $10 per piece. The first five shoppers each day are promised a special surprise.
