In addition to being a singing, dancing, joke-cracking host of the 87th Academy Awards, Neil Patrick Harris become a men’s fashion week of one, managing to wear more tuxedos in the course of the evening than most men will wear in a lifetime. By our reckoning he appeared in no fewer than five very different looks (no, we’re not counting the no-tie “Birdman” skivvies bit) by five different luxury labels -- and managed to look stellar in each and every one of them. Here’s a rundown of what he wore and when:

Arrival: Harris and husband David Burtka arrive at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. NPH is clad in a single-breasted, gray wool/cashmere flannel shawl-collar tuxedo and matching gray flannel bow tie by Italian luxury brand Brunello Cucinelli.

Opening number: By the time the host hits the stage to kick off the awards telecast with a song-and-dance number, he’s already swapped into tux number two. This one is a classic-looking black shawl-collar tuxedo by British brand Dunhill.

Tuxedo 3: By about 7 p.m. PST, NPH emerges from the wings in a custom burgundy two-button tuxedo jacket with black peak lapels and black tuxedo trousers by Italian luxury label Valentino that he’s paired with a black bow tie.

Tuxedo 4: He’s slipped into his penultimate outfit of the night by the time Benedict Cumberbatch and Naomi Watts take the stage to present the award for film editing. It’s a made-to-measure black, double-breasted tuxedo paired with a white shirt and black bow tie, all by Ermenegildo Zegna Couture (that’s a three-peat for the Italian labels, if anyone’s keeping track) and accessorized with a crisply folded white pocket square with a contrast piping edge.

Departure: Harris ends the night by liberating his oft-referenced Oscar night predictions from a lockbox, and the tuxedo he’s wearing at this point in the show is his fifth -- and final -- ensemble of the night, a navy blue velvet shawl-collar tuxedo with black grosgrain trim and black bow tie by American designer Tom Ford, accessorized with a huge five-petal flower on the lapel. It’s the tux he’s spotted (still!) wearing at the post-Oscars Governors Ball at Hollywood & Highland Center.

Who wasn’t he wearing might’ve been the more appropriate question.
