Paris Fashion Week spring 2014: Miu Miu review

Share

PARIS -- Miuccia Prada had a starry front row at her Miu Miu show Wednesday, with Michelle Dockery, Lena Dunham, Dianna Agron, Rashida Jones and other lovelies sitting pretty.

The look: Little girl living in a fairy tale of her own imagination.

Key pieces: Wooly coats and skirts with gingerbread trim. Cable-knit tights tucked into patent leather high heel Mary Janes. Storybook-like fox-, cat-, parrot- or fish-print little girl dresses. Sheer organza ruffled twin sets. Ugly chic baby blue vinyl coat and skirt. Suede coats with leather cut-out details reminiscent of ‘70s psychedelia. Fairy princess glitz dresses and skirts with sparkly beaded and fringed details. The color sense was incredible. (Only Prada could combine a mint green beaded fringe skirt with a ruby red, draped silk blouse and make it work.)

The verdict: Quirky fun. Fans of the cutesie Kawaii look will love it. But it might be a hard sell for anyone over 25.
