Prince George marks first birthday, is crowned fashion trendsetter

Britain’s Prince George turned 1 year old on Tuesday, and WWD declared that he’s already proven himself to be a toddling trendsetter. [WWD]

A coroner reportedly has ruled that 25-year-old British television personality Peaches Geldof --- the daughter of rocker Bob Geldof -- died of a heroin overdose. Her body was found at her home in April. [BBC News]

Sam Taylor-Johnson, director of the soon-to-be-released film “Fifty Shades of Grey,” is working on a photo project shooting Coco Chanel’s private, not-open-to-the-public apartment on the second floor of the Chanel atelier in Paris. The photos are to be displayed at London’s Saatchi Gallery in September. [Telegraph]

The tally is in for which will be the fattest fashion magazines this September -- always the biggest and most important issue of the year. The biggest are Vogue at 661 pages (30 fewer than last year); InStyle, 485; Elle, 465; and Harper’s Bazaar, 444. The latter three all represent increases over last year. [WWD]
