Rachel Roy unveils 10 fall fashion must-haves at Macy’s reopening
Still putting your fall wardrobe together?
You can get some ideas when designer Rachel Roy shows the 10 fall must-haves from her Rachel Rachel Roy collection in a trunk show Saturday at Macy’s at the Beverly Center. Roy is scheduled to show how to mix and match the basics, coordinate looks and express your individual style. She’ll be showing items ranging in price from $49 to $280 and including a print suit and a peacoat.
The event is to include music, refreshments and a chance to win one of the 10 pieces or a personal styling session with Roy and her co-host, fashion blogger Shea Marie.
It’s scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Beverly Center store, 8500 Beverly Blvd.
The event is part of Macy’s celebration of the reopening of its women’s store at the Beverly Center, and other events and special promotions are scheduled throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Dr. Martens and Filter magazine plan to celebrate the shoemaker’s #Standforsomething campaign on Saturday with a day full of DJ sets, prizes and a photo booth. The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1215 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica.
Something Lovely Wedding is hosting a bridal showcase from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at 7 Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach. Tickets are $45 in advance (purchase on Eventbrite, $55 at the door).
Author Emily Liebert is planning to sign her book “You Knew Me When” at an event starting at 7 p.m. Monday at Barnes & Noble at the Grove, 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles. Liebert has carried the book’s characters into the world of fashion and beauty with a nail polish collection in collaboration with Zoya and partnerships with clothing line Meksita and jeweler Dodo.
Trunk shows
Anyi Lu Couture Comfort women’s footwear is to present its fall-winter 2014 collection in a trunk show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Nordstrom at Westside Pavilion, 10830 Pico Blvd., Los Angeles.
Cookie Johnson is slated to showcase her premium women’s denim CJ by Cookie Johnson on Saturday at Nordstrom at the Americana at Brand, 889 Americana Way, Glendale. Johnson, wife of basketball legend Magic Johnson, is to be on the scene from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Fred Segal kicks off a three-week sale beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Santa Monica store, 500 Broadway. Selected merchandise from a large number of brands including Rag & Bone, Paul Smith, Band of Outsiders, Martin Margiela, J Brand, Dries Van Noten and Rebecca Taylor will be 50% off.
James Jeans plans a sample sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Cooper Building mezzanine at 860 S. Los Angeles St., Los Angeles. All sales final. Credit cards accepted; cash preferred.
Openings
Ugg Australia is scheduled to open Oct. 10 at the Americana at Brand. The new 1, 987-square-foot store is next to Madewell and Lululemon at the mall at 889 Americana Way, Glendale. [Updated at 5:15 p.m. PDT, Sept. 27: Originally the store was scheduled to open on Sept. 26, but the date has been changed to Oct. 10, a spokeman said.]
