There’s a whole lot of L.A. talent fronting the Russian edition of Garage magazine’s Fall/Winter 2013 issue, thanks to Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy and artist John Baldessari, who collaborated on the cover.

The cover image is reproduced from a collage that combines a black-and white photo of a classic Old Hollywood pose with an eye-catching blue, black and pink tie-dye pattern that sharp-eyed fashion folks may well recognize from Rodarte’s Santa Cruz inspired Fall/Winter 2013 runway collection (a piece from that collection can be seen above right). The same tie-dye pattern can also be seen in the magazine’s name at the top of the page.

Although the L.A.-based sisters Mulleavy have a long track record of collaborating with artists of all stripes -- Catherine Opie, Stephen Shore, Alec Soth, and Frank Gehry to name a few -- this is the first time they’ve worked with fellow Southern Californian John Baldessari whom they describe in the collaboration’s announcement as “our favorite artist.”
