L’Eclaireur sets opening date for L.A. flagship store

Parisian boutique L’Eclaireur is set to open its first U.S. store next month, tapping the West Hollywood Design District for its outpost. The store at 450 N. Robertson Blvd. is expected to open Sept. 9, placing it in the same block as H. Lorenzo and Bel Bambini. The actual building is a Sixties mansion with Parisian influences, a quality Meryl Hadida Shabani and her parents, Martine and Armand, sought in their real estate search to bring their concept Stateside. It’s about a block away from Alexandra von Furstenberg’s new flagship, which opened in the spring and a few blocks from Chanel, Curve and RH Modern.

“Los Angeles is a new moment for us to challenge ourselves and this city by introducing our perspective on design, not available in L.A. or the United States today — a truly global one, and of the highest quality,” Armand Hadida said.

L’Eclaireur currently counts five stores in Paris selling apparel and design goods. The first of those spaces opened in 1980, where the concept bowed in space shared with an art gallery on the Champs-Élysées.

The Los Angeles residential space will be a backdrop to display furniture and other design pieces, many of those limited-edition or one-of-a-kind objects. It will also boast a gallery and a third-floor event space.

Artists and designers whose work will be in the Robertson store include Ado Chale, Aldo Londi, Aristide Najean, Arne Quinze, Ben Storms, Carol Christian Poell, Fornasetti, Hans J. Wegner, John-Paul Philippe, Lindsey Adelman, Osvaldo Borsani, Philippe Hiquily, Pia Manu and Zaha Hadid.
