Children on skid row
Kevin Cedano, 13, who has grown up on L.A.'s skid row, walks on the roof of the Ohio Hotel, where he lives with his parents and three sisters. The area is a desert for most children, with few accessible parks or diversions other than the street. Kevin has struggled with staying in school, not for lack of good grades but because many public schools are reluctant to admit students from what they see as a troubled neighborhood.
