Megan Fox defends former costar Shia LaBeouf: ‘He’s perfectly fine’

Megan Fox just did Shia LaBeouf a solid -- and she didn’t even have to.

While the former “Transformers” lead has been giving the media reasons to fall out of love with him that no amount of brown paper bags can fix, his former costar had nothing but kind things to say about him while she was promoting her latest film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

The mother of two had very maternal things to say about the troubled actor.

“I’m not worried about Shia. I love my Shia. He’s perfectly fine,” she told the New York Daily News. “I haven’t talked to him in a couple of years, but I don’t worry about him.”

“He’s a brilliant kid, talented and funny,” the 28-year-old continued. “There’s no reason to worry.”

It should be noted that LaBeouf is also 28. Let that process for a second.

The “Even Stevens” alum has raised eyebrows over the last few years with his devil-may-care attitude, bad-mouthing of Hollywood’s elite and odd publicity stunts.

In December, LaBeouf was accused of and admitted to plagiarizing illustrator Daniel Clowes’ work for his short film “HowardCantour.com.”

Last June, he showed up at the Berlin Film Festival’s “Nymphomaniac” premiere wearing a brown paper bag over his head emblazoned with “I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE.” He then co-created an art installation in Los Angeles titled “#IAMSORRY.”

In June, he was arrested in New York City after being escorted out of a performance of “Cabaret” and now faces charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. The case has been put off to Sept. 10 while attorneys tried to work out a plea deal.

But, you know, Megan Fox is totally not worried.
