Twitter #Weekendeats highlights: Fried chicken fever

Share

It may seem as if we try to get fried chicken of any kind on the blog as often as possible. We’re pretty much guilty as charged, and today we’re celebrating the fried bird again. During our #Weekendeats chat on Twitter, participants had us jealous and hungry after seeing their fried chicken pictures from this past weekend. People also seemed to have more than their fair share of corn -- in the form of cookies, pancakes and more. Here are the highlights from this morning’s chat:

Starting off the fried chicken fever was Twitter user Caroline on Crack and her picture of fried chicken and waffles from the Tasting Kitchen in Venice Beach. The blog Boobs4Food also shared a picture of fried chicken from the new gastropub Parish in downtown L.A. Chef Casey Lane happens to be the man behind the fried bird at the Tasting Kitchen and Parish.

Megan Wood shared a picture of her fried chicken and waffles sous vide with truffle honey from the Edison restaurant and bar in downtown L.A. in our Olapic what-did-you-eat-this-weekend photo gallery.

Things got a little corny when the blog Onblank.com shared a recipe for fresh corn fritters and @DanCoxPR shared a picture of sweet corn & garlic chive “shortstack” with Mt. Tam @ State Bird Provisions in San Francisco. Daisy of the blog Daisy’s World also got corny this weekend and made the Momofuku corn cookies.

To close this week’s highlights, here’s a special shout-out to the Little Ferraro Kitchen for sharing her tribute to Julia Child with the chef’s boeuf Bourguignon.

After the chat, we ask people to upload pictures of their #Weekendeats to our What did you eat this weekend? photo gallery. We’ll feature some of the photos here on Daily Dish, so be sure to check back for more #weekendeats and #foodporn throughout the week.

Hope to see everyone next Monday morning on Twitter! It’s sure to be a drool-worthy good time.
