Nothing puts people in the mood for Christmas like holiday cookies. Monday morning’s #Weekendeats chat on Twitter was full of holiday cheer with bakers sharing recipes for their favorite cookies. Here are the highlights:

Beth from the blog Omgyummy shared a post and pictures of cookies she made in tribute to her friend’s mother who passed away last October, while Michelle Tomm, aka @WickidLicious2 on Twitter shared a photo of a small sampling of what she makes at Christmas.

Jessica Glick from the blog Foodista shared a recipe for gluten and dairy free peppermint brookie pies, named brookies for their mix between a brownie and a cookie, and Allie Pittenger, aka @alliepitt on Twitter, shared a photo of her festive snowmen sugar cookies.

And what says the holidays like Santa Yoda cookies? The blog JustJennrecipes shared a recipe for green Yoda cookies with red and white Santa hats. Pretty brilliant.

These aren’t technically cookies but are brimming with holiday cheer. Stephanie Arsenault from the blog Global Dish shared a recipe for eggnog cranberry rolls, inspired by Cooking Light’s whole wheat cinnamon rolls.

And what’s Christmas without a little gingerbread? Carrie Fehr shared her recipe for soft glazed gingerbread formed from a traditional springerle wood mold.

We also recently wrapped up our holiday cookie bake-off. You can check out the 10 winning bakers and their recipes here.
