Twitter #Weekendeats highlights: Kimchi for breakfast?

Share

Sometimes opposites attract, especially when it comes to food. Think dumping a box of Milk Duds into your movie popcorn or biting into a kimchi quesadilla. During Monday morning’s #weekendeats chat on Twitter, participants shared some unique flavor combinations. Here are some of the highlights:

Sarah Sprague shared her take on potato skins and bacon with her chorizo stuffed sweet potato skins. Grilled corn with butter, chile and lime is a summer favorite, but food blogger Pinoy Panda added a new flavor to the mix with elote con erizo del mar (Mexican corn topped with uni).

Kimchi, Korean spicy fermented vegetables, adds a nice bite to many dishes, but what about kimchi for breakfast? Olga Berman from the food blog Mango & Tomato shared a recipe for oatmeal with kimchi and fried egg for when you need some heat in the morning.
