On the sweet side, Shulie Madnick of the blog FoodWanderings.com shared her recipe for polenta citrus sable cookie snaps; Olga Berman from Mango & Tomato shared her Russian sour cream cake recipe; Jean from the blog Delightful Repast shared a recipe for gluten-free pancakes and syrup; and Geeky Foodie, aka @CharlieLima79 on Twitter shared a photo of a deep-fried pear filled with red bean paste.
And what's New Year's without a cocktail? Elizabeth Besa Quirino from the blog Asian in America shared a recipe for Amorsolo Nude, a Filipino cocktail and dessert made with Kahlua, Bailey’s, dark rum and port and Morrison Pub in Atwater Village shared a photo of their adult root beer float.
In the savory category, Shirley from the blog Lovely Lanvin shared her recipe for okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake); Gennefer Gross indulged in latkes and smoked salmon with a poached egg and wasabi crème fraîche; and Esther from the blog EstarLA.com shared a photo of her plate of steak and eggs at the Mercantile.
@luvbabyb on Twitter went all out with a Slater's 50/50 burger with Spam and bacon gravy, while Michelle Jenkins of the blog Daily Waffle started her New Year's resolutions early with a recipe for roasted butternut squash and red onion with tahini and za'atar.
