The cast of “Top Chef Masters” Season 2 has been announced, and local chefs Ludo Lefebvre and Mark Peel will return to the show.

Expect other L.A. chefs to appear: Govind Armstrong, who judged an elimination challenge last season, will come back to compete in Season 2 as well. Susan Feniger of Street will make her first appearance as a contestant.

The new season begins April 7 on Bravo.

For anyone interested in cocktails, there’s a new address to remember. It’s 320 Main, which is also the name of the new near-the-shore steakhouse in Seal Beach where owner Jason Schiffer has crafted a menu of classic drinks and original cocktails, such as his Gaucho Cowboy, which is an Old-Fashioned made with rye and tequila.

His Moscow Mule is made with Russian Standard vodka, fresh ginger puree and lime, served in a copper mug. “People love the mug,” Schiffer says. Perhaps too much. “They keep taking them.”

Bastide is open for dinner; chef blogs

Bastide, the on-again-off-again-on-again restaurant on Melrose Place, is open for dinner. The restaurant-cum-bookstore (there’s an Assouline shop inside) has been serving lunch since December. Chef Joseph Mahon says the menu will be “a touch more accessible than what it has been in the past.”

There are oysters, steak frites, roast chicken, sous vide salmon, grilled squid and onion soup. Desserts include chocolate beignets.

Mahon will be blogging about dishes at www.chef josephmahon.com.
