  • honestly if they look at most pot smokers, they would realize 90% of them were smoking cigarettes before pot.honestly study 2 pot smokers of almost equal athletic ability, intelligence.the only difference is one is a ciggarette smoker on top of pot.study them for a month and the one who smokes pot and not cigarettes is a LOT better off.

  • Generally speaking a very fair and balanced article. I would have liked to see a mention of the strong anti-cancer properties of cannabis. Since 1974 scientist have known that cannabis shrinks tumors, and causes cancer cells to die (apoptosis). It is effective in the treatment of gliomas (brain cancer) it has been shown to halt the spread of breast cancer, and topically has been shown to be an effective treatment for skin cancers. It is also highly anti-microbial and can halt MSRA. We should immediately fund research into this area of cancer treatment, and stop the political posturing that surrounds this issue.

  • The study they did to see if it causes cancer really shouldn't have been done because the used both marijuana and cigrette smoking in the test. Yes cigrettes cause cancer. I know because I had half a lung removed. But by combing the two of them instead of testing only people who never smoked screwed up their findings

  • I wonder why people are standing in the way of the people out there who are suffering. Why do we have such a problem with Marijauna but other prescription drugs come with 6 to 7 side effects that are worst than what they are trying to cure. I think that people are upset that a natural so called party drug could possibly have more healing power than these man made pills the government is trying to pass off as safe! Dont believe the hype, if grows let it blow!

  • I am a Hep C "cured" survivor and if I hadn't smoked marijuana for the year of treatment(hell) I went through to give me a desire to eat while undergoing this treatment, I wouldn't have lived.

  • I suffer from severly crippling and chronic nausea that is drastically eased by the smoking of marijuana. No other antinausea prescriptions have had even close to the effect of the plant.

  • pot is part of my daily life. i don't like that it's illegal or so expensive (new york is ridiculous! much cheaper elsewhere and probably better!) but i do arrange to have some all the time!!

  • Enough of the wonderfully effective Drug War. The War on Drugs was yet another great idea of Richard Nixon...along with four more years in Vietnam and HMO's, It is effective in many cases of vomiting secondary to chemo. It seems to be more effective than Zofran, which used to cost about $6/tablet. Allow us to us whatever we find useful, Okay Drug Warriors? -drj

  • I believe marijuana should be legally available for commercial and retail purchase. It should be available in whatever products the marketplace supports. Food, beverage, tobacco, whatever. It should carry public-use, open-container, traffic and employment restrictions much like alcohol. Once laws are enacted and modified over time, the government has done it's job. It is then up to individual responsibility and choice.

  • It should be legal. People who smoke marijuana is unjustly prosecuted. Smoking pot does not increase the crime rate. Most smokers are productive tax paying, law abiding people. They don't beat their wives, they do not cause problems like bars. Lifes and careers are ruined over a drug that does not make theives and liers out of people like other addictive legal drugs. I say free up our legal system by making it legal and persue the real criminals. Pot smokers are least problem for law inforcement unlike crack, speed etc. that should be illegal.
