A tour of four treasures

FOUR architecturally distinctive homes will be featured on Friday’s self-guided La Cañada Spring Home Tour. Visitors will see an Asian modern post-and-beam-style house designed by architect Jack Simison; a Paul Williams Anglo-Colonial estate, Casa de las Fuentes; a renovated, 1927 Spanish Colonial/Mediterranean Revival home by Everett Phipps Babcock; and a midcentury hexagonal house designed by Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright. Advance tickets for the tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m., and a separate luncheon can be purchased at www.albrooks.com or by calling (818) 790-0419. Tour tickets are $40 each, and luncheon tickets, $15. On tour day, tickets can be purchased at the tour’s Descanso Gardens headquarters, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge.

Landscape lecture:

Huntington tour:

Modernism show:

The Los Angeles Modernism Show & Sale will feature more than 90 international dealers specializing in 20th century designs including furniture, art and accessories. Natives tour:

African violet show:

Water catchment class:

AIA tour:

Homes by Callas Shortridge, Nathan Swift and Gloria Lee, Janna Levenstein and Billy Rose will be included in a self-guided tour of recently remodeled and redesigned midcentury modern homes in the Hollywood Hills. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance tickets $75. Adelaide tour:

The Santa Monica Conservancy hosts a tour of three homes along Adelaide Drive, famous for its views of the ocean and the mountains. The open houses include the Roy Jones house, built by the son of Santa Monica’s co-founder Nevada Sen. John Percival Jones; the Henry Weaver house, built by a wealthy hotel magnate and listed on the National Register of Historic Places; and the Bishop Conaty House, once home of notorious Hollywood starlet Mary Miles Minter. Garden lecture:
