Hot Property: Orlando Bloom’s compound for lease
Actor Orlando Bloom has listed his compound in the Hollywood Hills for annual lease at $18,000 a month.
Bloom’s house was the target of a July 2009 break-in by the so-called “bling ring” burglars, who focused on celebrities including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. The listing on Realtor.com shows a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house with more than 3,200 square feet of living space, all set behind gates on a heavily landscaped lot of three-quarters of an acre.
Walls of glass flank the double walnut door entry of the house, built in 1940. The kitchen has custom cherry cabinetry and a fireplace. A den-library-bedroom has its own entrance. A swimming pool and motor court complete the compound, which is gated and — not surprisingly — equipped with security cameras.
Bloom, 33, a star of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Lord of the Rings” movies, bought the property in 2007 for $2.75 million, according to public records.

British actress Alex Kingston and her husband, German writer Florian Haertel, have sold their Hollywood Hills home for $3.1 million.
It was redesigned by Paul Hinckley and rebuilt in 2001 into a modern house of glass, wood and concrete with 4,257 square feet of living space. The entry opens to a living room with a high Douglas fir ceiling and a two-sided fireplace. There are six bedrooms and 61/2 bathrooms.
A swimming pool hugs the back of the house, which sits on nearly half an acre with city and reservoir views.
Though Kingston is known for her role as Dr. Elizabeth Corday on “ER” (1997-2009), she has also appeared on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2009-10), “Doctor Who” (2008-10) and “FlashForward” (2009-10).
Kingston paid $719,000 for the original ‘60s bungalow in 1998.

Time for a cast change in desert
A Palm Springs home once owned by the late film star William Holden is listed at $1,495,000.
The post-and-beam Midcentury Modern house has a tongue-and-groove ceiling, terrazzo floor and glass walls. Sitting on nearly an acre of land encircled by ficus trees, the nearly 5,000-square-foot house includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a detached guest casita.
A wet bar sits poolside. There are two double garages.
Holden, who died in 1981 at 63, lived in the house for 18 years. The leading man starred in “The Bridge on the River Kwai” (1957), “Sunset Blvd.” (1950) and “The Wild Bunch” (1969). He won a lead-actor Oscar for “Stalag 17” (1953).
The property last changed hands in 1999 for $750,000, according to public records.

Fox Music president and Chief Executive Robert Kraft has his vacation getaway in La Quinta listed for sale at $949,000.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home, with a swimming pool, a spa and a detached guesthouse-casita, backs up to the 17th fairway of the Mountain Course at La Quinta Resort. The more than 3,100-square-foot house, built in 1989, has an open floor plan, a stone fireplace and an island breakfast bar off the newly remodeled kitchen. There are views of the Santa Rosa Mountains.
Kraft is also a songwriter, record producer and film score composer. He co-produced the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea” from “The Little Mermaid” (1989). His band, Robert Kraft and the Ivory Coast, has released four albums.
The property was recently reduced from $1,199,000. It was purchased in 2005 for about $1,124,600, according to public records.

James Fielding, the president of Disney Stores Worldwide, has sold his home in Pasadena for $2,325,000.
The Midcentury home, built in 1954, has walls of glass, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It sits on a gated lot of nearly an acre.
Fielding bought the house in 2009 for $1.6 million, public records show.
