Recycling with style

The idea is far from new -- bottling cutting kits were a 1970s as-seen-on-TV product -- but tranSglass, the 1997 collaboration between Emma Woffenden and Dutch design superstar Tord Boontje, achieves startling effects with angled cutting, sandblasted surfaces and polished edges that turn common beer and wine bottles into colorful collectibles.
