Fab ‘50s furnishings for good dish

Featured in fashion shoots, TV ads and the film “Running With Scissors,” the mid-century modern ranch of Hollywood gossip Janet Charlton is also home to a collection of fab ‘50s housewares and furniture. The columnist recently converted her living room into a boutique, putting piles of ceramics and decorative glass, plaster figurines, vintage lamps and Franciscan “Starburst” dishes up for grabs. Prices run from reasonable to ridiculous. The large chartreuse pedestal bowl shown here was tagged at $25, and a ceramic lamp on an iron stand with original shade was $175. “If you have good gossip, I’ll give you a good deal,” says Charlton, who also has a stash of old interiors magazines and movie memorabilia. Ask to see her framed Lana Turner costume from “The Postman Always Rings Twice.” Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 300 N. Rossmore Ave., Los Angeles, or by appointment; e-mail gossipjc@aol.com.
