The Los Angeles design firm Artecnica provided a sneak peek at its new products for 2013, a lineup led by an amusing little light called Yorky. The silicone fixture can sit up, lie down or go for a little walk with its leash on the wall. York was conceived by designer Hlynur Atlason and is expected to retail for $86.

Artecnica's other standout is Thalie, a collection of serving pieces made of intricately cut sheet metal. Each design consists of a single piece of steel, precision-cut so dozens of delicate tines can be held together by metal thread, forming the ribs of a plate, bread basket or fruit bowl. The pieces, by Swiss designer Julie Richoz, are expected to retail for $48 to $96 apiece.
Artecnica is premiering these designs and others at the New York International Gift Fair, which runs through Tuesday. The new pieces are expected to hit the market in April.
