Gift wrapping ideas from the pros
In the race to the holiday finish line, wrapping presents often ends up last on our lists. For Aya Sumika and Trevor John, owners of Los Angeles-based Midori Ribbon, however, gift bags and adhesive bows just don't cut it. For nearly 25 years, the company has sold luxury wrapping paper and imported ribbon to stationery stores, florists and event planners. Because even modest presents look impressive in pretty packages, we asked for ideas wrapping common gifts.
With much help from Ayako Matsui, an assistant designer at Midori, we're presenting some designs that are basic, and some that are more complex and unconventional.
