In a sea of lamps and shades, Jeffrey Alan Marks chooses a simple metal lamp, $19.99, with a thin stem and a turquoise shade. "The color is contemporary and beachy," says the designer, who did the interiors of the restaurant Tavern in Brentwood and The Hungry Cat in Malibu. "I would get at least two, but maybe more. I could see them massed on the top of a long console in a hallway or across the top of a bar, like we did at the Hungry Cat with industrial lamps."
