Weigh in on your favorite Cosby sweater at comedian’s website

Comedian Bill Cosby, whose penchant for boldly patterned sweaters during “The Cosby Show” years is the stuff of legend, wants the public to choose its favorite piece of eye-catching knitwear.

The “Cosby Sweater Tournament,” now underway at the comedian’s website, is arranged like a sports playoff bracket, with the field currently winnowed to two choices each in four categories: “the argyles,” “the cardigans,” “the cashmeres” and “the pullovers.” (Called “the Fleecy Eight,” they were culled from, wait for it, the “Sweat Sixteen.”)

In a little less than 48 hours (as of this writing) the field will narrow to one sweater from each category, with “the argyles” facing off against “the cardigans” and “the cashmeres” pitted against “the pullovers” in the Warmest Four.

Although we’re sure you’ll vote on principle alone, there is an added incentive, as anyone who votes will be entered to win an autographed copy of one of the many books Cosby has penned over his career, the most recent of which, “I Didn’t Ask to Be Born (But I’m Glad I Was),” was published in November 2011.
