Century City celebrates holidays with colorful reindeer

Share

Colorful handpainted reindeer in a variety of unique patterns deck out Westfield Century City this holiday season, thanks to the Reindeer Project. Eleven acrylic deer were painted by artists including Aaron Axelrod (who designed two reindeer), Couto Brothers, Yolanda González, Man One, Greg Miller, Max Neutra, Marilinda Rivera, Analia Saban, Johnny Taylor and Robert Vargas. The 12th deer was painted by Inner-City Arts students.

Four reindeer were sold at an auction last week, and the others may be bid on through Dec. 10 on CharityBuzz.com, with proceeds benefiting Inner-City Arts, a nonprofit arts education organization for disadvantaged youngsters. Bids start at $1,000 and rise in $200 increments.

All of the deer are to remain on display at the mall and nearby Century Park through Jan. 1. The mall is at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles.
