Hollywood’s favorite bling ring Chopard is the official jeweler on the film “Diana,” opening in September and starring Naomi Watts.

The Swiss jeweler’s connections in cinema run deep.

In addition to sponsoring the Cannes Film Festival, Chopard has been involved in a slew of feature films including “Midnight in Paris,” “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” and “Nine.” But this project was a particular challenge, according to press materials, in terms of capturing the late Princess of Wales’ extraordinary taste level.

Caroline Scheufele, Chopard co-president and artistic director, worked closely with Julian Day, the film’s costume designer, to select watches, jewelry and bags featured in the film, including several items from the jeweler’s popular Happy Diamonds Collection.

Among the most iconic pieces re-created for the film are Diana’s signature earrings made from oval sapphires set with diamonds, which matched her famous engagement ring. There’s also a triple-strand necklace made up of 92 diamonds, and a necklace set with pear and cushion cut diamonds.

The Chopard store also gets a cameo in the film, if the film stills that have been released are to be believed, with Diana (Watts) caught by a paparazzi photographer leaving the store with shopping bags in hand.
