Lady Gaga makes a splash at London Fashion Week

Just as soon as New York Fashion Week ended on Thursday, London Fashion Week got started. Lady Gaga, fresh from the N.Y. launch of her Fame fragrance, showed up at Philip Treacy’s show on Sunday and somehow changed outfits three times. She both performed and sat front row. [The Cut]

Designer Oscar de la Renta reacted oddly to a review by the New York Times’ Cathy Horyn, taking out a full-page ad in Women’s Wear Daily on Friday to complain that she called him a hot dog and said that he had copied Dior’s Raf Simons’ peplums. He didn’t seem to realize that it was actually a positive review. [WWD]

About three weeks ago, Society News LA blogger Ellen Olivier provided Los Angeles Times readers with a look-ahead at L.A.’s celebrity-studded fall social calendar of galas and charity benefits. Now the stars are shining even brighter: “We now have a double dose of Katy Perry [who is scheduled to sing at the Hammer Museum’s Gala in the Garden and at amFAR’s Inspiration Gals], plus Neil Diamond, Tony Bennett, Rita Wilson and Neil Young singing [at other events], plus Sarah Jessica Parker, Heidi Klum, Pau Gasol, Jessica Alba, Adam Carolla and others,” Olivier told me last week. And she’s keeping track of all of it on her blog. [Society News LA]
