Lush cosmetics to attempt ‘cruelty-free’ kiss print world record
Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics plans to attempt to break a Guinness World Record on Saturday for the most “kiss prints” collected in 12 consecutive hours.
The record is held by Oriflame Slovaka, which collected 23,174 lipstick prints in 12 hours in September 2010. Lush plans to go a step further and have all the prints made with “cruelty-free” lip products that aren’t tested on animals, such as its Emotional Brilliance collection.
The event is set to take place in Lush stores, including the ones in Anaheim, Santa Monica and at Universal City Walk, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. If you can’t get to the store, you can participate by using Instagram or Twitter to send a photo of your kiss print and tag it #crueltyfreekisses.
Suit Drive
Men’s Wearhouse is sponsoring a drive to collect used men’s and women’s suits that will be donated to 150 local nonprofits around the country to distribute to unemployed people in need of professional attire for job interviews.
Men’s Wearhouse stores will be collecting suits, ties, shoes, jackets and other professional apparel throughout the month of July. All donations will stay in the community in which the stores are located, the company says.
And the company has pledged to give each donor a 50%-off coupon for their next Men’s Wearhouse purchase.

Wasteland has scheduled a parking lot sale from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at 12400 Ventura Blvd., Studio City. Brands including Motel Rocks, One Teaspoon, Jeffrey Campbell, Insight and Unif will be discounted up to 80%.
