Macy’s launches MADE Fashion Week for Impulse collection

Share

Macy’s on Wednesday launched its new “MADE Fashion Week for Impulse” collection at stores nationwide and online at Macys.com. The collection, which was designed in-house, was inspired by New York’s MADE Fashion Week initiative, which connects emerging talent in fashion, music, art and pop culture with brand partners.

The collection, priced from $39 to $139, has a strong street-style aesthetic. There are bold print pants and maxi dresses, leather skirts, hoodies and wide-leg sweatpants. Throughout the season, 20 to 30 new pieces from the collection will be on rotating display at the Impulse sections of the department stores.

Fashion photographer Terry Richardson shot the launch campaign for the collection. The models are photographed on the street in front of orange-and-white road blocks, in a studio with theater lights, and on or around production equipment.

Some of the artists, writers, musicians and designers associated with MADE have put together a biannual “style guide” highlighting their favorite looks from the collection. The style guide and other online extras, including a “Day in the Life” video with the artists, are to be available at macys.com/impulse beginning April 3.

If you are social-media savvy, you can use the official #MADE4Impulse hashtag and watch for the MADE team to take over the Macy’s Tumblr account May 13 and 14. Macy’s will also leak behind-the-scenes images, photos and music links on its Tumblr page.
