Rihanna to greet fans at Macy’s fragrance launch

Rihanna is slat¿ed to kick off sales of her new fragrance, Nude by Rihanna, at the Macy’s in Century City from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The event is open to the public, and the first 300 customers who buy a $59 bottle will have the chance to be photographed with the singing star and receive an autographed photograph of her along with her new album, “Unapologetic.” The fragrance is described as an oriental blend “for the gal who takes risks but values her femininity.” The store is at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd. (Avenue of the Stars), Los Angeles.

Events

For five days beginning Thursday, Divine Design presented by Time Warner will pop up, offering special events and holiday shopping to benefit Project Angel Food. Organizers say every $5 spent will provide one meal to someone struggling with HIV/AIDS, cancer or another debilitating illness. A vast array of designer merchandise is for sale with prices starting at 60% off retail and going down even more each day beginning Saturday. Devine Design opens Thursday with a rock ’n’ roll party at which designer David Meister is to be honored for his contributions to the community. Tickets for opening night, which begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, start at $325 and are available online. Friday, a VIP shopping party is planned from 6 to 11 p.m., with tickets priced at $100 online. Divine Design opens for general shopping from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with tickets priced $25, although there is a $10-off coupon available online. The Divine Design Marketplace is at 9900 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills.

More than 30 vendors are expected at A Current Affair’s pop-up vintage marketplace from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the penthouse at the Cooper Building, 860 S. Los Angeles St., Los Angeles. Besides vintage clothing, accessories and jewelry, 10 contemporary jewelry designers will be featured in a trunk show. KCRW DJ Marion Hodges will entertain and Key Club and Vita Coca are sponsoring an open bar. Regular admission is $10 or buy a $20 ticket for “preview” admission at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the door.

NCLA and Kitson are opening Nails a la Carte Pop-up Manicure Bar, offering custom designs and treatments on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the holiday season. The pop-up is slated to run from this Friday through Dec. 31 at the Kitson flagship store at 115 Robertson Blvd., Los Angeles. Hours begin at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays and Sundays, and 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

South Bay Galleria hopes to gather 1,000 community members for its second annual “1,000 Points of Light” ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Each participant will be issued a flameless candle as the group gathers to sing Christmas carols in celebration of the holiday season. Guests may RSVP via Facebook before Saturday or register on-site beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday. The ceremony is to take place on Level 1 of the Nordstrom wing, near guest services at the mall, at 1815 Hawthorne Blvd., Redondo Beach.

Fashion designer and stylist Aries Milan is celebrating the opening of her latest boutique, Coquette, from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday. The boutique carries an assortment of designer fashions and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces from nearly 30 labels. Coquette is at 1230 Montana Ave., Suite 103, Santa Monica.
