“Modern Family’s” Sofia Vergara admits she has a fondness for Hermes Birkin bags. In August’s Harper’s Bazaar, she says she tells her agent: “What would you prefer? Me popping champagne bottles and doing drugs and wasting money or buying bags? These are valuable.” So valuable that she jokes with her son that if necessary, he can sell them to pay for college. Penney and Wal-Mart were among 17 major American retailers that signed an agreement in Washington on Wednesday to spend millions of dollars to improve worker safety in Bangladesh.
