My father is the song of spring. His voice brings new life to me.

My father is the song of spring. His voice brings new life to me. Every time he speaks, daisies spring from my soul, golden from the sweetness of his heart. His love is sweet-scented as lemons growing in the gardens of God. And though I stride in the lonely forest of life, I am never lost.

My Dad Is Donkey Delicious

My dad is donkey delicious, sweet as salad on a hot day. Hot chocolate toasty on cold days. The house goes jumping when we hear him sing and we pretend we are floating in space. As we roll across the moon, we go laughing to the stars.

You picked me up that day I fell from the preschool seesaw. You jumped off the other side and dashed toward me, sunlight in each step. When you leaned over me, I smelled daisies blowing in the wind and the sound of your voice calmed me like the sound of E minor. Your warm hands grabbed mine and gently pulled me up and we ran off to the swings to fly once again.

The Ridgway area is prime viewing for fall's splendors. Come nighttime, crawl into a yurt -- they're roomy and surprisingly comfortable. Photos | Seeing fall in California
