"WHAT are you bringing in for show and tell tomorrow?" Alex asked Sam as they walked onto the school playground.

"My lips are zipped," Sam answered. "It's a secret. A special secret."

"You can tell me," Alex said. "I'm your best friend!"

Sam shook his head.

"Please?" Alex begged.

"We-l-l-l," Sam began. "Promise you won't tell anybody?"

"Sure," Alex agreed.

Just then the bell rang. As they lined up in front of the classroom, Sam whispered his secret to Alex.

"What?" Alex whispered back. "Did you say your aunt's farm?"

"No talking!" their teacher warned.

"That's right," Sam whispered.

Now Alex was excited too. This was too cool. What would it hurt to tell just one person?

"Listen, Jake," Alex said at recess. "Sam has a secret, but I can tell you if you promise not to tell anybody else."

"OK," Jake answered.

"Get this. Sam's bringing in his aunt's farm to show and tell tomorrow!"

"The whole thing?"

"That's what he said."

"With chickens and rabbits and stuff like that?"

"I think so. But remember, it's a secret."

"I know," Jake said. But on the way home from school, he had to tell somebody.
