Nev Pierce's film list "Ten Remakes That Improve on the Originals" from "10 Bad Dates With De Niro"
"10 Bad Dates With De Niro," edited by Richard T. Kelly, is a collection of "10 best" lists prepared by a wide assortment of cinematically knowledgeable people. Nev Pierce, editor of Total Film magazine, compiled a list for the book of 10 remakes that are better than the original film on which they're based. No. 10 on Pierce's list is "The Departed," director Martin Scorsese's 2006 remake of "Infernal Affairs."
