Buff Gallery
Donna and Robert Grossi stand in the entry stairs to their Pasadena home, dubbed Rapor, or Sun House, by late architect Conrad Buff III, who built it in 1977 for his family. Visitors arrive at a motor court facing a garage and studio, walk up these stairs and find themselves before the main house, backed by the San Gabriel Mountains. A tiled path crosses over the pool, under the shaded loggia and into the house.

I appreciate the Grossi's wanting to honor so much of architect Buff's imprint on their home, while still making it their own. And photo no. 8 - the kitchen - can't believe people are wondering will it be replaced, just because it was built in the 70s. Just because it's
"old." Why are people slave to trends? The kitchen isn't dated. The space is functional, the wood cabinetry is pristine and simply designed. Timeless. And formica countertops are fine.
