If you think you need help preparing your taxes, several South Florida groups offer free assistance, Tthe IRS also can help you find a free group at 800-906-9887.

Some people will be able to get free help with their income taxes at the Boynton Beach Senior Center, 1021 S. Federal Hwy, 9 a.m. to noon every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from Feb. 1 through March.

The city of Miami Beach, in partnership with the IRS Tax Education and Communication Services, will offer free tax preparation for qualified residents at City Hall for those with a combined annual household income less than $50,000. The free services are available at the following schedule: Miami Beach City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Feb. 1-April 7; Wednesdays 4-7 p.m.; Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. North Shore Park and Youth Center, 501 72nd St., Feb. 1- April 6, Fridays and Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you file a 1040EZ form, get your federal income taxes done for free by Jackson Hewitt inside Walmart stores. The free offer covers up to two W-2s for single or married taxpayers. Go to to see what documents to bring.

An RV filled with workers who will help low-income families around Broward County fill out their federal tax returns free of charge.

The United Way of Broward County is sending out its Mobile Resource Center from Miramar to Pompano Beach.

Free VITA tax preparation: Service is only available if you earned less than $50,000 in 2011. You may be able to get Earned Income Tax Credit up to $5,751.

Free Tax Preparation is offered by trained volunteer tax preparers thru a partnership with United Way and the Internal Revenue Service. Beginning January 17th thru April 17th, 2012. Call to make an appointment. (Spanish Translation Assistance at both Vickers House locations.)
