Dances of two continents – Flamenco, the passionate performance art of Spain, and Kathak, a form of Indian classical dance – will be brought together in September at the
Performing will be:
Clarita Filgueiras, founder of the
Prashant Shah, a leading exponent of the male forms of Kathak, a northern Indian dance style and one of several styles of Indian classical dance. He also has often been commissioned by other choreographers for other styles like hip-hop, belly dancing and Bharatnatyam.
Besides the dancers, the performance will feature live music on guitar, sitar, sarangi and tabla.
The event is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Broward Center, 201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $20-$55, with 10 percent discounts for seniors and students.
