Bacon orange chicken at Panda Express and hummus at Subway

Share

The fast-food world is experiencing a culinary fusion binge. Panda Express is embracing bacon, and Subway is experimenting with a popular Middle Eastern dip.

The Chinese fast-food chain known for its orange chicken is updating its signature dish with bacon. But we’re not talking about adding a couple of bacon bits to the orange sauce. Panda Express has taken its famous dish and added chunks of thick-cut applewood smoked bacon.

The new bacon orange chicken is available at locations nationwide for a limited time. But if you’re a fan of the original, you can order that too.

In addition to the bacon orange chicken, Panda Express also has added a shiitake and kale chicken breast dish to the menu for a limited time, with shiitake mushrooms, kale, broccoli and chicken.

Subway is looking to add a new item to its menu with hummus. The sandwich chain started testing the chickpea spread in April, reports the Associated Press.

The hummus will cost more to add to your order. If the test is successful, Subway could introduce hummus to locations nationally.
