A cheeseburger and fries isn’t the first meal that comes to mind when you think breakfast food, but Burger King has decided to take a different approach to the current fast food breakfast battle.

Instead of offering up a new item -- think Taco Bell’s Waffle Taco or White Castle’s waffle sandwiches -- Burger King wants consumers to eat their existing burgers for breakfast.

The fast food chain announced plans to launch a new Burgers at Breakfast menu that adds its signature lunch items to its existing breakfast selection.

That means you no longer have to wait until 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to order a Whopper, the Big King (made with two meat patties, two slices of cheese and a middle bun), or the original chicken sandwich.

Other items on the new Burgers at Breakfast menu include the Double Whoppers, Whopper Jr., cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers, bacon double cheeseburger, French fries and apple pie.

The Burgers at Breakfast program will be available at 5,000 restaurants nationwide to start, with some locations launching the new menu as early as the end of the month, reported BurgerBusiness.com.

We’ve reached out to Burger King for more details and will let you know when we hear back.
