Events: Chinatown After Dark, Taste of Main Street, Koreatown dish crawl

The Chinatown Afer Dark food and music series kicks off Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Central Plaza and will continue the third Thursday of every month through September. Vendors will include Coffee Guys, PopFanz, Velvet Rope Cakes and more. Some of the participating food trucks include Kogi BBQ, India Jones Chow Truck, Tornado Potato, Vizzi Truck, Lobos Truck and the Phantom Food Truck. There will also be musical performances by Wishing Well and the Wild Rivers Band. The Melody Lounge will be pouring Twilight Summer Ale. In addition to the Chinatown After Dark series, the Chinatown Summer Nights with KCRW will take place the second Saturday of each month starting June 14, and the Moon Festival will start Sept. 12. 953 N. The Taste of Main Street will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. on May 25 in Santa Monica. The event will include a culinary tour of Main Street’s restaurants, juiceries, coffee shops and bars including M Street Kitchen, Manchego, the Galley, Pressed Juicery and more. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 if purchased the day of. Tickets include tastings at all participating locations, drink specials and entrance to the offical Mainopoly after-party at the Basement Tavern at the Victorian. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Summer SOULstice and Heal the Bay. Select restaurants will also offer special happy hour menus and drink specials to those with offiical event wristbands. Experience a dish crawl of Koreatown on May 21 at 7 p.m. with a guided tasting of three Koreatown eateries. The exact restaurant locations are kept a secret until the day of the event.
