For Black Friday, the Whisper restaurant and bar at the Grove is offering “The Longest Happy Hour,” from noon to 7 p.m. with menu specials including oysters with cucumber mignonette ($2 each), short-rib croquette ($5), crudité with marinated olives, hummus and grilled ciabatta ($7), Whisper fries with truffle ranch, blue cheese aioli and house-made ketchup ($5), house-smoked salmon crostini with avocado toasts ($7), Jidori wings ($7), Kobe beef sliders ($9) and more. On Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Church Key in Hollywood L.A. chefs and mixologists host a fundraiser, #LALovesPI, to assist relief efforts for Typhoon Haiyan disaster sites in the Philippines. Chefs including Eric Greenspan (the Foundry), Kris Morningstar (Ray’s & Stark Bar), Ray Garcia (Fig), Anthony Carron (800 Degrees, Top Round), Steven Fretz (the Church Key, Top Round), Steve Samson (Sotto), Perry Cheung (Phorage), Sally Camacho (the Jonathan Club), Kevin Luzande (Acabar) and mixologists Devon Espinosa (the Church Key), Nick Meyer (Bestia, Sotto) and Joey Bernardo (Harvard & Stone) will each create a dish or cocktail for #LALovesPI. 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets go on sale at midnight Tuesday at lalovespi.nightout.com.

General admission is $100 (plus service fees) and includes dinner, cocktails, reception and silent auction. VIP tickets are $150 and include a private Champagne reception, exclusive tastings and a gift bag courtesy of Sherry Yard (Helms Bakery). All proceeds will be donated to Gawad Kalinga efforts in the Philippines.
