Freebie alert: Free Blaze pizza in Canoga Park, $1 tacos at Komodo Venice

Blaze Pizza, the chain known for its build-your-own pies, is opening a new location in Canoga Park on Wednesday. To celebrate, the restaurant is giving away free pizzas Thursday at the new location. From 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook can order a free pie. The company says it’s trying to beat its current free pizza day record of 1,773 pies. 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park, www.blazepizza.com.

Komodo is celebrating the first anniversary of its Venice location with $1 tacos Saturday and Sunday. All of the restaurant’s classic taco menu will be priced at $1, including the Komodo 2.0, made with seared top sirloin steak, jalapeño aioli and Southwest corn salad; the Fish n’ Grapes taco with deep-fried Alaskan cod, Concord grapes, roasted almonds and sour cream salad; and the Blazin’ Shrimp, made with spicy Singaporean-style shrimp, sour cream salad and cilantro.
