It’s Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven

Share

If you see people randomly hopping and skipping around Saturday with silly grins on their faces, there’s a reason. It’s Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven.

If you don’t know what a Slurpee is and you grew up in Southern California, there’s really no excuse. Unless you’ve literally been living under a rock. If that’s the case, you’re excused.

FOR THE RECORD

July 10, 10:21 a.m.: An earlier version of this post said Free Slurpee Day is Friday. We got too excited. It’s Saturday.

Here’s a little culinary refresher. A Slurpee is a sugary slushee-type drink from 7-Eleven, deposited out of a colorful spinning machine, into a cup with a dome lid. It doesn’t get much better than this.

And the convenience store chain is celebrating its 88th birthday with free Slurpees at participating stores.

Between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., customers will receive a free small Slurpee drink of any flavor, including the new Sour Patch Watermelon Slurpee, introduced July 1.

You can also mix all the flavors. No one is judging if you like to party like that.
