Happy hour buzz: Breakfast bowls, $6 cocktails at Abigaile in Hermosa Beach

Share

Are you going to Coachella? When are you leaving? Which parties are you going to? Did you pick up your wristband yet? Do you know what the weather in the desert is going to be like this weekend?

If you don’t have a VIP wristband to the three-day music and arts festival and you’re tired of hearing about it, we get it. It’s enough to drive anyone to drink. Lucky for you, it’s Friday. And every Friday, we’re highlighting a happy hour.

So cut out early, put your designated driver on speed dial and get happy.

At Abigaile in Hermosa Beach, the chefs use happy hour for menu research and development. Like the restaurant’s regular menu, the happy hour menu changes daily. You could have a waffle topped with fried chicken and a fried egg one night, and spicy pepper mussels another.

Some of the items that may appear on the R&D happy hour menu include kung fu chicken tacos ($9); panchetta green beans ($7); fish ‘n’ chips ($8); beer ‘n’ bacon broth mussels ($10); lengua banh mi ($9); and a porchetta cubano ($10).

The restaurant’s scratch cocktails, including the Callahan Old Fashioned, made with house-infused cinnamon, anise and raisin whiskey, orange and black walnut, are all $6. Abigaile beer, made at the restaurant’s brewery, is $4 and house wine is $5.

The bartenders will also whip up a daily cocktail creation, just for happy hour.
