National Coffee Day: How to get a free cup, plus more specials

There really is such a thing as a free cup of coffee. Well, there is on National Coffee Day on Monday. To celebrate, here are a few ways to get your hands on a free cup of joe, plus more specials to get your caffeine fix going.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf took over Union Station on Monday by decorating seven platforms and launching the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf train car. Representatives from the brand are stationed on train platforms 13B and 14B to greet Metrolink commuters and give them coupons for free coffee, buy-one-get-one-free specials and more while supplies last at participating locations. Head over to one of the new Dunkin’ Donuts locations in SoCal for a free medium coffee. The doughnut chain is offering free cups of its new hot dark roast coffee at participating locations Monday. 1132 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, www.dunkindonuts.com.

Cafe Demitasse in downtown Los Angeles is offering half off all signature drinks Monday. Each barista has a signature drink you can order at the bar. Also, if you buy a bag of coffee, you can get half off a different bag of coffee. And if you buy a mug, the cafe will fill it with coffee for free. 135 S.
